Senior Transportation/Environmental PlannerRadin is looking for a Senior Transportation/Environmental Planner. We provide planning and engineering consulting services to the transportation market. Our offices are located in downtown Manhattan and in Newark, across the street from Newark Penn Station in New Jersey. Primary duties will include preparing planning studies/reports with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical adequacy with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); reviewing design plans for assessing environmental impacts; applying green design principles; and coordinating with clients, stakeholders, resource agencies, and environmental and technical staff. Responsibilities Prepare documents, reports, presentation, technical memorandum, and other work products with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical adequacy Review design plans for potential environmental impacts and sustainable (green) applications Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders Oversee all aspects of a project including client contact, budget control and invoicing, scheduling, and technical analysis Qualifications Bachelors’ degree or higher in planning, environmental studies, transportation and/or related field 8+ years of project management and/or professional related experience in a transportation consulting environment Advanced knowledge and understanding of NEPA, and other federal and state environmental regulations Certified planner (AICP) preferred Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team Excellent organization, schedule and budget management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Proficiency with GIS, Adobe, and/or CADD programs preferred Willingness to travel as projects required Salary & Benefits Salary will be based on qualifications. Transportation Staff EngineerRadin is looking for a Transportation Staff Engineer. We provide planning and engineering consulting services to the transportation market. Our offices are located in downtown Manhattan and in Newark, across the street from Newark Penn Station in New Jersey. This individual must have the ability to interact well with client management teams and must be a team player. Responsibilities BS/MS degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering 3-5 years of experience in transportation, highway and street design, or closely related engineering field. Experience with public agency projects preferred Experience in site planning and development projects including roadway design, storm and sanitary sewer design, site grading and drainage design Knowledge of state regulatory agencies/processes and building codes preferred Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation or Primavera / Microsoft Project Softwareis a plus. CAD TechnicianRadin is looking for a CAD Technician with rail and bus experience. We provide planning and engineering consulting services to the transportation market. Our offices are located in downtown Manhattan and in Newark, across the street from Newark Penn Station in New Jersey. Responsibilities Read and understand the terminology and symbols used in survey notes, plans, shop drawings, aerial photographs, and maps for use in developing construction drawings Understand and apply client CADD standards and accurately transfer information provided in numerical, written, sketched, or electronic format to construction drawings. Prepare CAD drawings for rail system plans and infrastructure for construction and planning purposes Create 2D design drawings (3D preferred) based on previous drawings, sketches, mark-ups and data Revise drawings based upon updated information and field comments Be able to assemble multi-discipline design packages for printing and electronic submissions Qualifications 3+ years of experience on multi-discipline projects using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD 3D CAD experience a plus Understanding of AutoCAD and MicroStation conversions HS or GED, plus 1-2 years technical school Background in transportation services preferred Salary & Benefits Salary will be based on qualifications. Construction Quality Assurance ManagerRadin Consulting, Inc., a transportation planning, and design firm is looking for a full-time Construction Quality Assurance Manager who will coordinate with all prime contractors and WMATA Project Management Teams. The position will require travel to various WMATA facilities in the Washington Metro Area (MD, DC, and VA). Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are included. All applicants will need to pass a WMATA security background check. Full vaccination against covid-19 is required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering At least 10 years of demonstrable experience in construction or transit quality management and/or assurance. Extensive knowledge of the ISO certification system. Solid verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to work in a team environment. Bridge construction/engineering experience preferred. Responsibilities: Enforcing, monitoring, and documenting the quality management and quality assurance practices of the MATOC contractors. Establishing and maintaining a QC/QA system with the contractor. Providing weekly update reports to the WMATA Project Management staff. Coordinating with all prime contractors and WMATA Project Management Teams to verify that the most current contract documents and standards are being used. Any deviations from these documents will be reported to the WMATA Project Management Team for their disposition and direction. Implementing the required quality programs per FTA and WMATA to ensure compliance. Providing quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews. Preparing and completing action plans. Implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. Identifying and resolving problems. Completing audits. Determining system improvements and implementing change. Referencing all relevant industry standards, such as ASTM’s, etc. The QA/QC Manager will not direct means and methods but will validate and document the methods employed by the Contractors.

The position is hybrid for now, located both at home and at WMATA Headquarters. Ultimately, the position will be based at WMATA Headquarters. The salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are included. All candidates will be required to pass a background check and must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Requirements Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field from an accredited University. A minimum of 10 years of experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS)/ Quality Management Principles (QMPs). Experience related to managing numerous Process Improvement Initiatives (ISO 9001, 20001 & 27000). Excellent communication skills as position requires implementing QMS within different departments at WMATA. Experience in coordinating and communicating with multiple stakeholders to resolve concerns as well as dealing with senior or executive level management. Experience working with regulatory agencies, including interpretation and communication of regulatory requirements (FRA, FTA, Safety, etc.). An understanding of the transit industry and a common language and system elements are a plus. Responsibilities Establish performance-based Quality Management Systems (QMS) Provide direction and support to WMATA in establishing, managing, and assessing their procedural frameworks using ISO 9001, 20001 and 27000. Implement and review WMATA’s ISO:9001-2015 Quality Certification Assess if WMATA’s process improvements requirements line up with its business objectives, and operational needs. Lead a team of technical writers to produce documents and manuals on process improvements/ QMS initiatives Establish performance goals with executive leaderships and prepare plan of action for items requiring remediation Establish QMS components such as steering committee(s), metrics to improve performance, risk reduction initiatives and contingency planning Undertake project management reviews, conduct audits, and lessons learned sessions to improve SOP.

Technical WriterRadin, a transportation planning and design firm, is looking for a full-time Technical Writer to be based at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Headquarters in Downtown Washington, DC. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are included. All candidates will be required to pass a background check and be fully vaccinated. Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited University. A minimum of 3 years experience in writing and editing operational procedures and manuals. Good to great communication skills A solid background on writing procedures and can walk us through that process successfully QMS/QMSP experience Responsibilities: Works with other departments in WMATA to review existing procedures and help write new procedures. Determines conformance to WMATA’s “Core QMS Standards”, which are described in the WMATA QMSP and based on ISO 9001/FTA QMS Guidelines. Responsible for review and writing of procedures and policies, maintaining a library of documentation, analyzing documents to maintain continuity of style and content. Will function as a part of a team supporting Quality Program implementation within the agency. Primary responsibility will be reviewing documents developed by internal stakeholders for adherence to requirements, as well as for accuracy, grammar, and formatting. Review and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Quality AnalystRadin, a transportation planning and design firm, is looking for a full-time Quality Specialist/Analyst (CAP Leader/Coordinator) to be based at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Headquarters in Downtown Washington, DC. (The position is hybrid, for now, located both at home and at WMATA Headquarters, therefore the candidate must be in the DC area.) The salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are included. All candidates will be required to pass a background check and must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Requirements Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field from an accredited University. A minimum of 3 years experience performing root cause analysis, problem-solving, process evaluation, and/or program scheduling and coordination, as well as an understanding of the stages of solving issues and implementing actions to prevent a recurrence. ISO 9001:2015 knowledge or experience is a plus. Experience coordinating and communicating with multiple stakeholders to resolve concerns, as well as dealing with senior or executive level management. Experience working with excel, access, or similar tracking databases and developing reports. Experience working with regulatory agencies, including interpretation and communication of regulatory requirements (FRA, FTA, Safety, etc.). An understanding of the transit industry and a common language and system elements are a plus. Responsibilities Responsible for tracking open issue logs and coordinating with multiple internal and external people/departments to resolve and close issues. Works with other departments in WMATA to track and close out findings from internal and external audits, called CAPs or iCAPAs. Be able to coordinate with staff, update logs, analyze data (MS Excel skills are critical), and write reports.
